Hi, I'm Nikki! I'm a Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach and Certified Nutrition Coach with a passion for helping people create realistic, sustainable change in their health and lives. My path to coaching has been anything but one-dimensional. Before entering the health and wellness space full-time, I worked as a Speech Therapist, where I spent years coaching and supporting parents as they navigated communication challenges with their children. That experience shaped the way I coach today: with empathy, patience, and a deep respect for how complex behavior change can be.

For the past 18 years, I've been immersed in the fitness industry, working with individuals from all walks of life. Over time, I've seen firsthand that true health isn't built through extremes or quick fixes. It comes from consistency, self-awareness, and a sustainable approach that fits into real life.

I'm also a mom of two, and like many of my clients, I've spent much of my life navigating challenges with weight and body image, especially after the birth of my children. That lived experience is a big part of why I do what I do. I understand how frustrating and defeating it can feel to chase unrealistic standards or feel disconnected from your body. My approach is rooted in helping you move beyond that cycle and toward a place of confidence, balance, and self-trust.

As your coach, my goal is to support you in building a positive, sustainable relationship with food, movement, and your body. I focus on individualized guidance, practical strategies, and meeting you where you are so you can create habits that only improve your health, but also enhance your quality of life. This is about progress over perfection, and learning how to care for yourself in a way that feels supportive, loving, and lasting.

My passion for education in the health field began with and continues as a Dental Hygienist with particular interest in the prevention and care of Periodontal Disease, focusing on gum and bone health. Research has expanded into the connection between Oral Health and our overall Systemic Health. The care of our teeth, gums and jawbone can have a direct effect on many areas of the body, including the heart, lungs, liver and even the Brain. We now know that certain harmful bacteria in the mouth can cross the Blood-Brain barrier which can contribute to dementia and other brain diseases. Having attended innumerable continuing education courses and conferences over my 40+ year career in dentistry eventually led me to an interest in Health Coaching. In 2019, I became a certified health coach with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition® (IIN), furthering my certification in 2023 with IIN as a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). This allowed me to attain my status as an Apollo Health™ ReCODE 2.0 Health Coach in July of 2024. Dr. Dale Bredesen, an internationally recognized Neurologist and researcher, with the Apollo Health Medical team devised the first program that focuses on prevention and reversal of Dementia and Alzheimer's disease. This is an incredible breakthrough toward the elimination of this terribly debilitating health issue. The program provides great hope for those who are presently suffering with dementia and just as importantly, for their families and caregivers. What I especially love about the program is the prevention aspect. We now know that Alzheimer's disease isn't always caused by a genetic predisposition to the disease. There are many other risk factors involved and with the Apollo Health program, these factors are identified with your individualized profile. Just as your physician recommends a colonoscopy around age 45, Dr. Bredesen has devised the Cognoscopy as a means of identifying whether or not you have the propensity for dementia. The earlier these factors are discovered, the better your chances are for preventing dementia and severe Alzheimer's altogether! With specific blood testing and assessments, your brain health is determined and recommendations are presented for a long, thriving and happy life. Allow me to provide guidance with your journey toward better health! I can help you navigate the Apollo Health programs, providing 1:1 coaching with sincere care, concern and privacy. I can be the liaison you need with your physicians or specialists who have an interest in the Bredesen Protocol™ system of care. My personal interests besides being a geek for education, exist in many areas, like exercise- I love swimming, running and strength training. Gardening is a calming experience for me and just seeing it change with every season brings me true happiness and then, there's cooking! I love experimenting with new healthful recipes, many of which come from Apollo Health. They make cooking more fun and interesting! My husband of 36 years, is an avid bicyclist and loves skiing and hiking. He is a photographer and owner of a retail camera shop. We have 2 grown daughters for which we feel tremendously blessed!

I’m passionate about helping women reconnect with themselves and discover what health and wellness can truly look like in their own lives—mind, body, and spirit.

My journey into this work has been shaped by personal experience—navigating genetically high cholesterol, caring for my father through multiple health challenges, and committing to a plant-based lifestyle. These moments deepened my understanding of how important it is to make intentional, informed choices that support both our health and our lives.

As a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and functional nutrition student, I understand the unique transitions women face—especially in seasons like perimenopause and post-menopause. But more than that, I understand what it feels like when something within you begins to shift.

My Christian faith is at the foundation of how I live and how I coach. I believe that true wellness is a God-given gift—and that we are called to care for ourselves in a way that honors both our bodies and our lives. My approach is rooted in compassion, encouragement, and helping you renew your mind so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

Whether you’re seeking more balance, more energy, or a deeper sense of purpose, I’m here to walk alongside you.

You’re not meant to do this alone—and you don’t have to have it all figured out to begin.

RN, NBC-HWC |Whole-Person Wellbeing & Life Coach | Midlife Women Navigating Type 2 Diabetes

National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach

2 years of experience | $45 - $90 per session

Tampa, US

Speaks English

What if your body was never the problem?

What if Type 2 Diabetes—the diagnosis that may have felt like a verdict—was actually an invitation?

An invitation to return to yourself. To the wisdom already living within you. To a relationship with your body that was never truly lost—only waiting to be remembered.

My name is Sheila Certeza Asare. I'm a Registered Nurse, National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, and Whole-Person Wellbeing & Life Coach.

For more than 30 years, I've had the privilege of caring for people through some of life's most vulnerable moments. From the tiniest babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to adults navigating complex health conditions, one truth continued to reveal itself to me:

The body is always moving toward life.

Given the right conditions, it already knows the way.

That understanding became deeply personal when I, too, was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.

Years ago, I was told that insulin was inevitable. Today, it isn't. Not because I discovered a perfect diet or pushed harder, but because, little by little, I began relating to my body differently.

That changed more than my blood sugar.

It changed my relationship with myself.

Over the years, I've come to believe that lasting wellbeing begins with relationship—our relationship with our bodies, our thoughts, our emotions, our stories, our relationships, our environment, and ultimately, our relationship with ourselves.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief:

We are whole. Fully, wholly, always.

I don't believe our work is to become someone else. I believe it is to gently reconnect with the wisdom, capacity, and truth that have been within us all along.

Type 2 Diabetes may be the reason we meet, but it is rarely where our work ends. More often, it becomes the doorway back to your body, back to your own rhythm, back to trusting yourself, and back to living in a way that reflects who you truly are.

This understanding became the foundation of The NEST—a whole-person coaching philosophy rooted in the belief that wellbeing is not something we earn. It is something we continually return to.

Within our coaching partnership, I don't replace your healthcare team, nor do I tell you what your life should look like. Instead, I offer a space where you can slow down, become curious, and listen more deeply to yourself—a space where you are witnessed, supported, compassionately challenged, and trusted to discover what wellbeing looks like in your own life.

Wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome exactly as you are.

You don't need to become someone else before you begin.

You don't need to have all the answers.

You don't need to earn your wellbeing.

You are already whole.

If this way of thinking resonates with you, I'd love to meet you.
