I would love to tell you that I've been clear minded and focused my entire professional life, but the truth is that life doesn't work that way and I definitely took the scenic route to get to where I am today.

  • Starting off with a BFA, I was going to be this great artist, but unfortunately graduated into a very unforgiving market.  Thankfully, my administrative skills helped support the financial needs of a new marriage/new house/new baby . . .

  • Soon after, at age 31 my husband was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Large Cell Lymphoma.  At the same time I was diagnosed with a thyroid goiter requiring surgery. My new baby? . . . .was 18 months old.  Don't worry - we all survived.  But the bills were monstrous so back to work I went. I began as an Activities Coordinator at a residential treatment facility for teenage girls facing significant emotional and behavioral challenges. From there, I became an educator for adults with intellectual disabilities.  It was a deeply meaningful experience, offering excellent benefits but only modest pay.

  • At age 41 I inherited a chunk of change and decided to invest in myself.  I returned to school to earn my Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy. Best move I ever made.

  • In 2008, I began working as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) at the VA Medical Center. There, I was finally able to bring together everything I love - Music, Art, Dance, Drama, Creative Writing, Animal Assisted Therapy, Whole Health and even Reiki. Over the 17+ years, I collaborated with some incredible interdisciplinary teams including Physicians, Nurses, Psychiatrists/Psychologists, Physical/Occupational/Kinesio Therapists, Social Workers and Nutritionists.  I've worked with Veterans of all ages and across a wide range of conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, amputations, cancer, PTSD, depression, substance use disorders, dementia, schizophrenia, anxiety and end-of-life care.

  • For 10 of those years, I also presented (both in-person and virtually) for Veterans participating in the MOVE program. My lesson titled "Get Fit for Life" focused on the benefits of movement and encouraged individuals to find accessible, personalized ways to stay active.

  • My time at the VA has seen me through my divorce as well as purchasing my own home.  While seeking to maintain my own sense of balance 10 years ago, I discovered CrossFit.  I loved it so much that at age 58, I earned my CF-L1 certification and even coached for a time.  Still am very active to date.

  • My journey has always been guided by both professional experience and personal curiosity. I became a Level II Reiki Practitioner through the VA in 2015, and I continue to explore the science behind healing modalities utilizing sound and vibration. Most recently, in August 2025, I earned my Board Certification in Health & Wellness Coaching.

So where do I go from here?  Well, as of June 1, 2026 I'll be retired from the VA embarking on the next chapter of my life as an Entrepreneur, Artist & Health Practitioner.  If I'm going to live to 100, I still have a lot of life ahead of me!

AS the Founder of Stepping Stone Services, my goal is to offer unconditional support - wherever you are on your journey.  I invite you to reach out so we can begin improving the quality of your life . . . one step at a time .

As a Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach, I am committed to empowering individuals to take control of their health. Whether they are managing an autoimmune condition or simply seeking to improve their overall well-being, I guide them on a path of self-discovery and sustainable change. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at age 17 and had my thyroid surgically removed. There was so much I was never told, never made aware of. For years it was a rollercoaster of feeling crazy, alone, abandoned, depressed, weak, lost, afraid, and just plain defeated. It wasn’t until years later that I finally started to take control of my health and well-being. Because of my thyroid issues I’ve been forced to look at every aspect of my life and make the necessary changes to move from surviving to thriving. I started my Health Coaching journey in July of 2024 and am now a Certified Health & Wellness Coach. I am working towards becoming Nationally Certified in 2025 through the National Board of Health & Wellness Coaches. Making the decision to coach is a culmination of everything I’ve gone through and my desire to help others confidently take the next step in their journey.

I know firsthand how overwhelming life can feel when you’re juggling a demanding career, family, and everything else because I’ve been there myself. After experiencing burnout, I realized that wellness isn’t just about nutrition. To restore balance, I also needed to address sleep, hydration, stress management, and intentional movement. Self-care couldn’t just be a buzzword;  it had to become a reality. By focusing on one goal at a time, I regained my energy and clarity, which inspired me to train as a health coach and culinary nutrition expert so I could help others do the same.

I’m passionate about helping women reconnect with themselves and discover what health and wellness can truly look like in their own lives—mind, body, and spirit.

My journey into this work has been shaped by personal experience—navigating genetically high cholesterol, caring for my father through multiple health challenges, and committing to a plant-based lifestyle. These moments deepened my understanding of how important it is to make intentional, informed choices that support both our health and our lives.

As a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and functional nutrition student, I understand the unique transitions women face—especially in seasons like perimenopause and post-menopause. But more than that, I understand what it feels like when something within you begins to shift.

My Christian faith is at the foundation of how I live and how I coach. I believe that true wellness is a God-given gift—and that we are called to care for ourselves in a way that honors both our bodies and our lives. My approach is rooted in compassion, encouragement, and helping you renew your mind so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

Whether you’re seeking more balance, more energy, or a deeper sense of purpose, I’m here to walk alongside you.

You’re not meant to do this alone—and you don’t have to have it all figured out to begin.

Hi, I’m Diana! I’m a National Board–Certified Health and Wellness Coach supporting women in creating meaningful, sustainable lifestyle changes that reflect their values, culture, and lived experiences.

I take a whole-person approach to wellness, looking at the many factors that shape how we care for ourselves.

As a Filipino-American, a creative, and a multi-passionate woman, I’ve navigated cultural expectations around wellness while also managing stress and my own health challenges. Through that, I’ve learned that well-being goes far beyond physical health. It also includes mental and emotional care, boundaries, support systems, stress management, and adapting to your changing needs over time.

In my coaching space, we work together at your pace to explore what wellness looks like for you and turn your goals into realistic, sustainable steps.

What that can look like:

🌀 Creating a lifestyle aligned with your values and lived experiences
🌀 Building sustainable habits and routines that actually fit your life
🌀 Working through behavior change in a way that feels doable, not overwhelming
🌀 Setting goals that are personal and self-directed
🌀 Ongoing support and accountability as things evolve

As life naturally shifts, I support you in discovering tools, approaches, and practices you can return to when things change.

RN, NBC-HWC |Whole-Person Wellbeing & Life Coach | Midlife Women Navigating Type 2 Diabetes

National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach

2 years of experience | $45 - $90 per session

Tampa, US

Speaks English

What if your body was never the problem?

What if Type 2 Diabetes—the diagnosis that may have felt like a verdict—was actually an invitation?

An invitation to return to yourself. To the wisdom already living within you. To a relationship with your body that was never truly lost—only waiting to be remembered.

My name is Sheila Certeza Asare. I'm a Registered Nurse, National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, and Whole-Person Wellbeing & Life Coach.

For more than 30 years, I've had the privilege of caring for people through some of life's most vulnerable moments. From the tiniest babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to adults navigating complex health conditions, one truth continued to reveal itself to me:

The body is always moving toward life.

Given the right conditions, it already knows the way.

That understanding became deeply personal when I, too, was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.

Years ago, I was told that insulin was inevitable. Today, it isn't. Not because I discovered a perfect diet or pushed harder, but because, little by little, I began relating to my body differently.

That changed more than my blood sugar.

It changed my relationship with myself.

Over the years, I've come to believe that lasting wellbeing begins with relationship—our relationship with our bodies, our thoughts, our emotions, our stories, our relationships, our environment, and ultimately, our relationship with ourselves.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief:

We are whole. Fully, wholly, always.

I don't believe our work is to become someone else. I believe it is to gently reconnect with the wisdom, capacity, and truth that have been within us all along.

Type 2 Diabetes may be the reason we meet, but it is rarely where our work ends. More often, it becomes the doorway back to your body, back to your own rhythm, back to trusting yourself, and back to living in a way that reflects who you truly are.

This understanding became the foundation of The NEST—a whole-person coaching philosophy rooted in the belief that wellbeing is not something we earn. It is something we continually return to.

Within our coaching partnership, I don't replace your healthcare team, nor do I tell you what your life should look like. Instead, I offer a space where you can slow down, become curious, and listen more deeply to yourself—a space where you are witnessed, supported, compassionately challenged, and trusted to discover what wellbeing looks like in your own life.

Wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome exactly as you are.

You don't need to become someone else before you begin.

You don't need to have all the answers.

You don't need to earn your wellbeing.

You are already whole.

If this way of thinking resonates with you, I'd love to meet you.
