FAQs

What does a Heath and Wellness Coach do?

Button

Health and Wellness coaches empower individuals and groups to achieve self-determined health and wellness goals using evidence-based, client-centered approaches. As a Health and Wellness coach, my goal is to actively listen to your concerns and guide you on a path to making lasting, positive changes in your health habits and lifestyle based on your goals. Goals addressed can encompass any area of health and wellness including physical, mental, or emotional health, and overall life satisfaction

How is coaching different from therapy?

Button

Coaching is a process that aims to empower individuals or groups to achieve specific personal or professional goals, enhance performance, or navigate challenges. Coaching is focused on the present and involves goal setting and action-oriented strategies to help foster client success. Therapy addresses past experiences, emotions, traumas, or other psychological issues. Therapy aims to alleviate distress and improve mental health by using techniques to explore and understand emotions and behaviors

As a nutrition coach, do you provide specific meal plans?

Button

No, it is outside the scope of a nutrition coach to provide specific meal plans. However, we can provide examples and suggestions to help you meet your specific nutrition needs. As a nutrition coach, my goal is to help you understand your body's energy and nutrient needs for your specific goals and guide you in making choices that align with those goals.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Button

You can schedule and pay for appointments directly on this site. All major credit cards are accepted.

Can you use FSA and/or HSA funds to pay for coaching?

Button

Under certain conditions, you may be able to use your HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Spending Account) to pay for health coaching services, provided a licensed healthcare provider deems coaching medically necessary for treating or preventing a specific condition (e.g. diabetes, heart disease, or mental health condition, or for weight management under a doctor's care).

What documentation is needed to use HSA/FSA funds to pay for coaching?

Button

Your doctor will likely need to provide a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN). You will also need to check with your benefits provider to ensure that Health and Wellness Coaching is an eligible expense. It is the client's sole responsibility to ensure that coaching is eligible for reimbursement and that they have the documentation necessary for reimbursement.
