FAQs

What happens in a coaching session?

Button

During our coaching sessions, we'll delve into the areas where you need the most support. I will hold space for you to talk about your challenges. We'll explore themes or topics that are currently present for you, and then based on what feels right or most valuable to you we'll identify and initial area of focus. From there we'll create a customized plan that meets your needs. All of this happens within a supportive and non-judgmental environment.

What is your training and background?

Button

I'm a NBC-HWC board-certified health and wellness coach specializing in emotional wellbeing. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and over 20 years of experience in health research and education.

How many coaching sessions will I need?

Button

This is totally up to you. Typically change takes time, so a standard practice is weekly sessions for 8-12 weeks. However, you can choose the pace that works best for you, whether that is one time, as needed, or more frequently.

What does a coach do?

Button

As a coach, I provide support in areas you want to grow, change, or would like guidance in. I use a strengths-based approach to help you tap into your motivations and achieve your wellness goals.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Button

Therapy often focuses on resolving past difficulties impacting your present. Therapists are licensed health professionals who can treat mental health disorders. Coaching is future-focused and supports personal growth based on self-initiated goals.

What is emotional wellbeing and why is it important?

Button

Emotional wellbeing is your ability to manage your emotions and cope with life's challenges.

Can I use my HSA or FSA health account for coaching?

Button

Possibly! Certain criteria must be met in order to use your HSA or FSA. If you are interested in exploring this option let me know and I can help.
