How do I know if coaching is right for me?

Coaching works best when you're ready to make changes and willing to take an active role in your health and wellness journey. You don't need to have all the answers, that's what we'll discover together, but you do need to be open to exploring new approaches and trying new strategies. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start, coaching can help you gain clarity and build momentum. The free discovery call is a great way to explore if we're a good fit.

What does a typical coaching session look like?

Each session is a collaborative conversation focused on you. We'll explore where you are now, what you want to achieve, and what's getting in the way. Together, we'll identify small, actionable steps that move you forward. Between sessions, you'll implement what we've discussed, and we'll use our next session to celebrate progress, troubleshoot challenges, and build on what's working. Sessions are conducted virtually via secure video conferencing for your convenience.

What's the difference between health coaching and therapy or medical treatment?

Health coaching is not a substitute for medical care or mental health treatment. I don't diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, or provide clinical treatment. Instead, I partner with you to explore your health goals, build sustainable habits, and create strategies that complement your existing medical care. Think of coaching as the support between doctor appointments, helping you navigate daily life, implement lifestyle changes, and advocate for yourself within the healthcare system.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?

Life can be unpredictable, I get it. I ask for 24-hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling whenever possible, and there's no fee if you provide advance notice. Emergencies and health-related cancellations are always handled with flexibility and understanding. No-shows without notice will be charged the full session fee.

Do you take insurance?

I don't directly bill insurance, but I can provide you with a superbill (detailed receipt) that you may be able to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement under out-of-network benefits. Some HSA/FSA accounts also cover health coaching services. I recommend checking with your insurance provider to understand your specific coverage. Payment plans are available for multi-month programs to make coaching more accessible.

What happens after my program ends?

You'll leave with tools, strategies, and confidence to continue your health and wellness journey independently. Many clients choose to continue with monthly check-in sessions for ongoing accountability and support.
