Study Hall 6 - NBHWC Exam (March'26) with the wizard
Justin, the wizard, is a TUTOR in addition to serving as a Health & Wellness Coach. ‘E took the NBHWC Exam to earn board certification ’is self during the exam cycle of November 2025 and passed: https://members.nbhwc.org/member/Justin-the-wizard During 'is preparation, a study hall series much like this one was held for peers that were going to be taking that same November 2025 exam, and the opportunity was generally well received. Recordings of the past pre-November 2025 study hall are available on Justin's PATREON Note that the 2026 Exam content is updated relative to the November 2025 Exam content. Justin's certification program prepared ‘im for either version of the exam, and ’e is ready to help guide another round of Vibly coaches through the process of taking the exam with success! The syllabus for this Spring 2026 study hall series is as follows, with all sessions to be scheduled at 5pm Pacific Time. TTRPG?
Table-Top Role-Playing Games! Dungeons & Dragons is the classic example. There are MANY others these days. I have a menu of options for potential players!
Ok then, so what's your favorite TTRPG, Justin, the wizard?
When I'm running games over Zoom, I have a strong preference for the thoughtful and trauma informed design that's gone into Daggerheart. This new TTRPG was created by Darrington Press in association with the TTRPG-players of Critical Role. I'm a big fan of theirs! As a player and in the past, I have the most experience with D&D (3/3.5, 4e, & 5e) - both on tables & video adaptations. I also have some experience with Candela Obscura, Vampire: the Masquerade, and Vampire: the Requiem.
How do TTRPGs play into your Health Coaching?
To start out, I use a "character creation" / "tell me your backstory" inspired interview to get to know pretty much all of my clients. This is a guided self-reflection exercise that informs me about things my clients may not otherwise have brought to my attention without this. From there, we'll use the analogy of fantasy often, and we could possibly even use role-playing in-sessions when it may be appropriate or helpful to do so.
