I coach people who FEEL LIFE HAS BECOME FLAT OR MUNDANE. My work focuses on clarifying what you want now, developing the mindset to achieve it, and building the habits to sustain it. Through this process, you will rediscover your core values and how to move forward with intention, purpose, confidence, and joy.

My approach is guided by the EIGHT DIMENSIONS OF WELLNESS —emotional, intellectual, physical, social, spiritual, environmental, occupational, and financial. Each area influences the others, and sustainable change occurs when they're aligned..

For years, I searched for meaning and direction. Even with mind-body-spirit work, life felt flat—like I was going through the motions. Discovering the Eight Dimensions of Wellness—especially the often-overlooked occupational, social, and environmental areas of my life—helped me connect the dots. I began to understand how my thoughts, daily habits, and core values were misaligned, which was why I struggled to make lasting changes. I realized that mindset drives habits and that those habits ultimately shape long-term behavior.

Coaching based on this foundation of mindset and habits became my bridge between awareness and action, allowing me to live with intention, purpose, core values aligned with my values, and joy. I use the same framework to help others achieve their desired results because I strongly believe in it.

PERSONAL GROWTH REQUIRES ONGOING ATTENTION. My coaching helps you identify what’s keeping you stuck, clarify what matters most, and decide how to take consistent action toward a more fulfilling life.

I’ve spent years integrating holistic practices—mindful movement, self-care, reflection, and connection—into different seasons of my own journey. These practices have helped me stay grounded, focused, and resilient through change.

My approach blends mindset work, habit science, and the EIGHT DIMENSIONS OF WELLNESS to help you create a strong foundation for sustainable transformation—without perfectionism or burnout.

As your coach, I support you in bridging the gap between intention and action—turning insight into lasting results.

  • My Story: When I'm by water or wandering in a forest, slowed down by the flow of the natural world, I feel peace. And, joy!  This spaciousness wasn’t common for the first decade of my working life. Striving to do and achieve were my life themes. Part of me loved it—there was real fulfillment. But, there was also a real toll—aspects of my health. Support, like coaching, that listened to me and valued me as the expert in my own life helped me build a lifestyle that meets my needs—so I can feel fulfilled, and healthy. My experience being coached, lifelong fascination with health, and deep belief that protecting and nourishing the health of our minds and bodies is so important led me to this work.

  • My Why: To help women feel their best, embrace their power, and enjoy their lives.

  • My Training: I'm a Certified Health Coach, trained by Headspace Training Institute. I'm also a trained yoga and meditation teacher. I use evidence-based practices, and weave in my expertise in storytelling that I gained through a MFA in Cinema Directing, and a decade-long career in the communications field. Your mind and body are so powerful. The stories you tell yourself are so powerful. You can embrace that power to feel your best.

  • Session Cost: 30-minute sessions are $50. I'm also offering one scholarship for free weekly or bi-weekly coaching for a 3-month period. This is currently available! Please message me, or book a discovery call, if you'd like to discuss this option.

  • Forever Here For Equity, Diversity, + Inclusion: I value diversity in gender, sexual orientation, culture and race, socioeconomic status, size, immigration status, age, ability, and other identities. I’m a LGBTQIA+ affirming and neurodivergent (ADHDer? Me too!) affirming health coach.

My journey to becoming a Mental Health Coach wasn't a straight line, it was shaped by life.

I know what it feels like to have life take unexpected turns, to rebuild after difficult seasons, to question what's next, and to discover that sometimes the person you're becoming requires you to make different choices than the person you've always been.

My own journey has required resilience, courage, boundaries, self-reflection, and the willingness to do the work necessary to move forward. I've navigated major life transitions, returned to school later in life, changed career directions, overcome personal challenges, and learned that starting again doesn't mean starting from nothing. We carry everything we've learned with us.

Today, I bring those experiences together with professional training as a Certified Mental Health Coach, trauma-informed coaching education, Mental Health First Aid training, mental health advocacy, group facilitation experience, and years of professional experience supporting people through challenging situations.

But credentials alone aren't what shape the way I coach.

I believe people deserve a space where they can be heard without being judged, rushed, or told what they should do with their lives. My role isn't to hand you my answers. It's to listen, ask meaningful questions, help you recognize your strengths and patterns, and walk alongside you as you determine what moving forward looks like for you.

I especially enjoy working with women navigating midlife reinvention, career changes, life transitions, resilience, confidence and self-trust, healthy boundaries, burnout, personal growth, and rediscovering purpose.

Whether you're returning to school, considering a new career, rebuilding after a difficult season, learning to choose yourself, or simply realizing that the life you've been living no longer fits the woman you're becoming, you don't have to have everything figured out before you begin.

I believe your past can inform you without defining you, your age doesn't determine what's still possible, and meaningful change begins when you decide to participate in creating what comes next.

Sometimes reclaiming your life doesn't mean starting over. It means finally choosing how you want to move forward.

My passion for mental health coaching comes from a deep belief that everyone deserves support, understanding, and the opportunity to create meaningful change in their lives. I approach coaching with empathy, compassion, and curiosity, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.

I believe that each person is the expert on their own life. My role is not to tell clients what to do, but to walk alongside them as they identify their strengths, explore challenges, and develop practical strategies that align with their values and goals. Through active listening, motivational interviewing, and a strengths-based approach, I help individuals build resilience, increase self-awareness, and make sustainable changes that support their overall well-being.

My experience supporting individuals navigating mental health challenges has reinforced the importance of hope, connection, and self-compassion. I am passionate about helping clients develop confidence in their ability to overcome obstacles, manage stress, improve self-care, and create a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.

I strive to foster a collaborative coaching relationship where clients feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to take steps toward becoming the healthiest version of themselves—mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Hi, I'm Shakira — a Social Worker with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Certified Mental Health Coach (CMHC) and working on obtaining my National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) certification.

My background in social work has given me a deep understanding of the challenges people face — and a genuine passion for showing up for my community in meaningful ways. I came to coaching because I saw a gap in accessible, culturally aware support for BIPOC individuals and other marginalized communities , and I wanted to be part of changing that.

I specialize in working with people who are feeling stuck, navigating burnout and anxiety, or standing at a crossroads in their career and not sure which direction to take. I know how exhausting it can be to carry all of that — and I know how much it matters to have someone in your corner who truly gets it.

My coaching style is calm, grounding, and empowering. I don't have all the answers — and I'm not here to give them to you. I'm here to help you find your own. Every session is a judgment-free space where you can show up exactly as you are, speak freely, and start making sense of where you want to go.

My goal is simple: I want you to leave every session feeling safe, seen, and a little more clear on what comes next.
