My name is Trish Lacy, and becoming a mental health coach feels like a natural extension of both my personal journey and the work I have done throughout my career.

For more than 15 years, I have worked in Human Resources and People and Culture leadership. Throughout my career, I have supported people as they navigated workplace stress, conflict, leadership challenges, career changes, difficult conversations, personal concerns, and major life decisions. I often became the person people trusted when they needed a safe place to be honest about what they were experiencing.

What ultimately led me to mental health coaching, however, was my own story.

There was a time when I appeared successful and strong on the outside, but privately, I was becoming disconnected from myself. I was navigating a difficult marriage, emotional and narcissistic abuse, divorce, motherhood, health concerns, financial pressure, and career transitions. I spent so much time caring for others and trying to hold everything together that I stopped recognizing myself.

When I left my marriage, I thought leaving would be the hardest part. I soon learned that rebuilding could be just as difficult. I had to learn how to trust myself again, manage difficult emotions, set boundaries without feeling guilty, rebuild my confidence, and reconnect with the parts of myself I had neglected.

I later shared that journey in my award winning memoir, Erased in My Home. After releasing my story, people from many different backgrounds began sharing their own experiences with me. They spoke about relationship difficulties, stress, anxiety, self doubt, grief, career changes, caregiving, identity, and the pressure to appear okay when they were struggling internally.

Those conversations helped me recognize something important. Many people are functioning, working, caring for others, and meeting their responsibilities while silently feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally exhausted. They may not need someone to tell them what to do. They may need a supportive space to slow down, understand what they are feeling, recognize unhelpful patterns, and identify realistic ways to move forward.

That realization is what led me to mental health coaching.

My experience combines mental health coach training, more than 15 years of People and Culture leadership, and the perspective I have gained through my own healing and personal development. My professional background has taught me how to listen carefully, ask meaningful questions, navigate sensitive conversations, maintain confidentiality, recognize patterns, and support people through change. My personal journey has taught me the importance of empathy, self awareness, boundaries, resilience, and having support during difficult seasons.

My coaching approach is compassionate, honest, thoughtful, and practical. I support adults who may be experiencing stress, low confidence, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, life or career transitions, difficulty setting boundaries, or a loss of connection with themselves. I also work with people who simply want to strengthen their emotional wellness, better understand themselves, and become more intentional about how they live.

I do not believe people are broken or need to be fixed. I believe that everyone deserves a space where they can speak honestly, feel heard, explore what may be holding them back, and reconnect with their own strengths.

As your coach, I will not judge you, rush your process, or make decisions for you. I will listen, ask thoughtful questions, help you clarify your goals, and support you as you develop practical strategies that fit your life.

My story has taught me that difficult experiences may shape us, but they do not have to define what comes next. Healing, growth, and change are possible, and no one should have to navigate that process alone.
