Richard’s journey into exercise instruction and nutrition counseling began with a pivotal moment in 1981, when he discovered High-Intensity Strength Training (HIT) through The Nautilus Bodybuilding Book by Ellington Darden, PhD. Captivated by the science and logic behind this revolutionary approach, Richard was drawn to its emphasis on efficiency, precision, and safety.
Over the next four decades, his dedication to this method only deepened as research continued to validate what he experienced firsthand: brief, intense, and infrequent workouts can deliver exceptional results—without the joint stress and overuse injuries often associated with conventional training.
Even while pursuing a successful 30-year career in financial services, Richard maintained his HIT practice and philosophy, eventually competing in natural bodybuilding contests—training less than 20 minutes per week while achieving remarkable results.
Ultimately, he chose to turn his lifelong passion into his vocation. Today, Richard is dedicated to helping others unlock their physical potential, whether that means building strength and vitality for daily life or pursuing peak performancein athletic or aesthetic goals. His mission is simple: to help people live stronger, longer, and better.
Certified in High-Intensity Strength Training (HIT), Richard is respected and frequently consulted by peers in the global strength-training community.
Becoming a Certified Coach with Insulin IQ was a natural extension of his work. Inspired by the research of Dr. Ben Bikman and others, Richard recognized that managing insulin resistance—along with proper recovery and sleep—is central to optimizing long-term health and body composition for his clients.
In addition, Richard is certified to facilitate content from Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. He integrates these timeless principles into his coaching practice, bridging the gap between mindset, habit formation, and physical transformation.
