FAQs

What is coaching, exactly?

Button

Coaching is a collaborative process where we work together to help you reach your personal or professional goals. It’s a supportive space to explore what you want, what’s getting in the way, and how to move forward with clarity and confidence. It’s not about fixing you — it’s about empowering you to access your own wisdom and take aligned action.

How is coaching different from therapy, mentoring, or consulting?

Button

Therapy often focuses on healing past wounds or managing mental health. Mentoring usually involves someone giving advice based on their experience. Consulting is more directive — telling you what to do. Coaching is different in that it’s future-focused and centered around you discovering your own answers. I’ll guide, support, and challenge you, but the solutions come from within you — that’s where the real power is.

Do I need to have a specific goal to start coaching?

Button

Not at all. Some people come to coaching with a clear goal, others just know they feel stuck, unfulfilled, or overwhelmed. Maybe when you think about your future, you don't know what you want. Together, we’ll uncover what’s most important to you and create a direction that feels meaningful and motivating.

How can coaching help me?

Button

Coaching can help you get clear on what you want, overcome self-doubt or blocks, create sustainable habits, and feel more in control of your life. Whether you're navigating change, feeling stuck, or simply want to thrive in a new way, coaching gives you the space and structure to move forward with purpose.

How long does it take to see results?

Button

That depends on your goals and how deeply you want to go. Some clients experience breakthroughs in just a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support to build momentum and sustain change. Either way, we focus on meaningful progress, not quick fixes.

What happens in a typical coaching session?

Button

Whether it's our first session or our last, I'll ask you powerful questions about who you are and what's important to you at this stage of your life. We’ll explore where you are, where you want to go, and what’s getting in the way. I’ll reflect what I hear and help you uncover insights. We'll look for themes, move through obstacles, and set goals when appropriate. I'll check in with you on those goals the next time we meet, and we'll look at what worked and what didn't, and adapt accordingly.

Do you give advice, or do I figure things out myself?

Button

My role isn’t to tell you what to do — it’s to help you find clarity and confidence in your own decisions. I may offer observations, tools, or strategies, but ultimately, the insights and direction come from you. That’s what makes the change lasting and empowering.

What methods or tools do you use in your coaching sessions?

Button

Depending on your needs, I might offer values exploration, habit tracking, mindset work, visualization, journaling prompts, or somatic awareness techniques. Everything is tailored to support your growth in a way that feels aligned and doable for you.

How do I know if a coach is right for me?

Button

The most important thing is the connection you feel with your coach. A good coach should make you feel seen, heard, and supported — while also gently challenging you to grow. I always offer a discovery call so you can get a feel for my style and see if it’s the right fit.
