Program structure

1. The Counter-FIT Approach: Build•Adapt•Become

Button

The Counter-FIT coaching program is for the fitness misfits, reluctant exercisers, gym avoiders, and people who never felt like they belonged. Instead of relying on the rigid rules of traditional fitness that eventually lead to frustration and burnout, we'll focus on building what supports you and adapting to changes in your environment so you can become your most authentic and capable self.

BUILD

Build strength. Build capacity. Build trust.

This includes:

  • Physical strength

  • Muscular and cardiovascular capacity

  • Confidence in what your body can do

  • Consistency without perfection

  • Trust in yourself

  • A foundation for long-term health

Strength is the foundation. Longevity is the goal.

ADAPT

Adaptation isn't what happens when you can't follow the program.

Adaptation IS the program.

Instead of:

"I couldn't do my workout, so I failed."

You'll say:

"My capacity was different today, so I adapted."

Learning how to adapt when life gets messy is what will keep you consistent overall so you can reach your goals.

BECOME

This is the transformation. By the end of 12 weeks you'll be:

  • More physically capable

  • More confident

  • More self-aware

  • More resilient

  • More autonomous

  • Less dependent on external fitness rules that don't apply to you.

You'll be able to confidently say, "I understand my body. I know how to train. I know how to adapt. I know what to do when life gets messy."

2. Phase 1–BUILD

Button

Weeks 1–4: Build the physical and behavioral foundation. This includes:

  • Gaining fundamental resistance training skills.

  • Learning how to train safely and effectively.

  • Understanding how to gauge effort.

  • Establishing a realistic routine

  • Creating healthy habits outside of your workouts such as recovery, meal planning, and energy management.

  • Collecting data on how your body responds to exercise and adjusting accordingly.

  • Working on mental resilience and discarding habits that no longer serve you.

  • Building overall consistency so you're not starting from zero every time.

Outcome: “I can do this.”

3. Phase 2–ADAPT

Button

Weeks 5-8: Making the program work for YOU. This includes:

  • Learning how to modify your workouts.

  • Adjusting your expectations on low-energy days.

  • Embracing the flexibility of your workouts for overall consistency.

  • Recognizing when to challenge yourself vs. recover.

  • Knowing when perfectionism is getting in the way and taking action regardless.

  • Creating systems that work with your individual needs.

Outcome: “I know how to make this work for me.”

4. Phase 3–BECOME

Button

Weeks 9-12: Embracing your new identity.

  • You'll notice your mindset has shifted from having to exercise to actually enjoying it.

  • You'll understand what motivates you on a deeper level so you can achieve your goals.

  • You'll become even more confident in your physical and mental abilities.

  • You'll know how to rebuild routines when life gets complicated.

  • You'll have a strategy for achieving what you consider the bare minimum on tough days.

  • You'll have the tools to make fitness evolve with you for life.

Outcome: “This is part of who I am now.”
