A diagnosis or even a family history of Alzheimer's Dementia is incredibly scary and, up until recently, there was nothing to do but wait for the inevitable. However, there is now a way to both prevent and even reverse the cognitive decline that comes with Alzheimer's Dementia. 

 

I am a ReCODE 2.0 Certified Health Coach, a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, and a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach. I am also certified to administer and score Montreal Cognitive Assessments (MoCA). I have a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and 20 years of experience helping people to successfully reach their goals. My primary goal with Health Coaching is to work with participants on the Bredesen Protocol through the PreCODE and ReCODE Programs.

 

While witnessing my grandfather’s decline from dementia, I became acutely aware of the heartbreaking effects of this disease, not only on the individual, but also on their loved ones. I saw the toll the disease took on my grandmother, mother, and aunts and uncles who worked so diligently to care for him during his illness and keep him in his home as long as possible. I believe that no person should be told that there is nothing that can be done to help them maintain and even regain their cognitive abilities and want to give everyone hope for great brain health as long as they live.

The coaching relationship with me is one of support, understanding, collaboration, compassion,…and challenge. I understand that the Bredesen Protocols require significant behavior change, which can be very difficult, and take some time. However, with this understanding comes the belief that, to be successful and make improvements, individuals and caretakers benefit from being challenged for the betterment of their health. In sessions, you, me, and caretakers will celebrate successes and, without judgment, work through any barriers to successful change with specific and measurable goals. 

 

I am available to work in person and via telemedicine with a ReCODE trained primary protocol practitioner or in conjunction with your own primary care physician, as so long as they are willing to support you on the protocol.
