Experience

30 years experience

"Susie has a background in social work and personal experience as a survivor of Multiple Sclerosis which caused her to make lifestyle changes and beat this chronic disease. This helped shape her core values: client driven and centered growth, resilience and personal fulfillment. She specializes in supporting individuals experiencing life transitions and those who serve people experiencing severe trauma and major life challenges and non-profit businesses with this type of mission. She understands that vicarious trauma is real and those experiencing it need just as much support as the people whom they serve that are experiencing trauma. Her extensive experience in this field sets her apart from other wellness coaches. In the last year, she has experienced a "lifequake", a life change where there is no turning back. Assisting her aging parents to navigate cognitive changes leading to a different living situation, Susie has firsthand experience in life transitions and the ripple effect they have on the caregiver."

FAQs

Still need more clarity? Here are answers to some commonly asked questions.

How many sessions does it take to succeed?

Button

The program is tailored to you and dependent on the work you put into it.

Will I receive a record of the work I do?

Button

Your coach will provide you with summaries of your sessions including key goals, tools and resources. The record of your sessions including key is confidential and is only shared with you.

How is coaching different from therapy?

Button

Coaching is like snorkeling. You will explore things from the surface, set goals that you identify. Goals are focused around the various wellness domains ( I.e. spiritual, physical, social, financial, etc.). Therapy is more like scuba diving. You take a deep dive into issues that may include past trauma, mental health issues such as depression and/or family patterns and history and their effect on your current situation. Coaching is focused on the goals that lead to your best life balance

What if I fail the first day on my goal?

Button

“Failure” leads to learning. Try, try, try again. Contacted your coach. Your coach will support you in tweaking your goal, encourage you to find your strengths and supports to succeed. Maybe, there are other interim goals which may help you to succeed. You set the pace.

Are my sessions confidential?

Button

Yes, everything you share with your coach is between you and your coach, except under certain circumstances. As a social worker, I am a mandatory reporter so I must report to the proper entities if you disclose to me that you may harm yourself or others.

Can I try it out to see if I like it?

Button

Yes, I offer a free first session so you can experience coaching and get a feel for me and whether we are a good match.
