"Hi, I’m Emily—a functional medicine health coach, former high school biology teacher, fitness instructor, and mom to five amazing kids (four of whom have now left the nest). My path to coaching didn’t begin in a classroom or a gym—it began at my own kitchen table, searching for answers to my children’s complex health challenges. During the 2010s and early 2020s, some of my children struggled with focus and attention. While medication provided some relief, the side effects were often difficult to manage. Around the same time, another child became seriously ill with an advanced autoimmune condition. We found ourselves relying on powerful medications that suppressed the immune system—necessary, but deeply concerning. In the midst of this, a friend introduced us to a functional nutrition protocol. As we began implementing targeted dietary changes, stress management, and supportive lifestyle shifts, we witnessed a remarkable transformation. That same child has now been in remission for years—with little need for medication. Over time, we also uncovered the powerful role food sensitivities, sugar, exercise, stress reduction and gut health played in emotional well-being and mental health. Again and again, functional medicine gave us insight and solutions where conventional approaches fell short. With a degree in biology education and 15 years of experience teaching fitness, I’ve always believed in the body’s innate ability to heal. But it was my lived experience as a mother and caregiver that truly showed me the power of functional and lifestyle-based healing. More than anything, I love people. I bring a warm, friendly presence to my work and approach each client with curiosity, compassion, and hope. Now, as a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach candidate (completing my certification in August 2025), I partner with others on their healing journeys—helping them uncover root causes, build sustainable habits, and move toward vibrant, whole-body wellness. I believe healing is possible. And you don’t have to do it alone."
