I knew at a very young age that stress impacts the body. I watched it manifest in the people I loved and saw what happened when it went unaddressed. Like most children, I assumed I would never make those same mistakes.
At eighteen, I left home with nothing more than a suitcase full of shoes and my first month's rent paid. Those early years felt like a reward for surviving, fueled by the belief that I could do anything.
What I know now is that "can" and "should" are very different things.
Over time, the weight of everything I had experienced caught up with me. The fearless young woman I once was slowly became a terrified mom, making decisions through the lens of survival. I spent years avoiding what I needed to face, then years talking about it, until eventually there was nothing left to say. Somewhere along the way, I became angry.
Hormones certainly played a role, but deep down, I knew I already had many of the answers. I just didn't know how to put the pieces together.
For a while, I searched for the perfect explanation, the right label, diagnosis, or breakthrough that would finally make everything make sense. Eventually, I stopped searching for transformation and started focusing on small, realistic changes. Little by little, the anger softened, and for the first time in decades, I gave myself permission to truly feel.
That was the beginning of my return to health and wellness.
I spent nineteen years in financial technology, primarily in product development and customer experience, including several years at MINDBODY and other incredible startups. I loved helping small business owners succeed and creating experiences that made customers feel genuinely supported. But two months shy of twenty years, I knew it was time to walk away.
I earned my MS in Health & Wellness through the American College of Healthcare Sciences and am currently pursuing both my National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach credential and a Doctor of Science in Integrative Health. Throughout graduate school, I intentionally focused my research and writing on burnout, mental health, hormones, gut health, and the many ways chronic stress reshapes both the body and mind.
It was through that work that I realized I wasn't simply interested in studying wellness; I was called to help people navigate it.
Today, my coaching is rooted in the belief that sustainable health begins with understanding the whole person, not just the symptoms they carry.
When I'm not writing, coaching, or researching, you'll usually find me volunteering around McKinney ISD, strength training, meeting friends for coffee, or curled up with a good book.
"Still need more clarity? Here are answers to some commonly asked questions.
You're not alone. Many people already know they should eat better, sleep more, move their bodies, and manage stress. They're just trying to figure out how to make it all fit into real life. We typically begin by focusing on one area that's most important to you, such as: Stress and burnout Healthy eating habits Sleep Physical activity Time and energy management Building sustainable routines Work-life balance Overall well-being
If you have a vision of the life you want, for yourself or your family, and you're ready to take small, meaningful steps toward it, then coaching may be a great fit. You don't need to have everything figured out. You simply need a willingness to explore what's possible and commit to the process. That willingness is one of the most important predictors of success.
