"I'm a mom of 2, stepmom of 2, and dog mom of 1. I've worked in healthcare since 2004 and as a health & wellness coach since 2019, but my entire career has centered around human behavior in some form or fashion. From thoughts to actions, there are endless levers we can push and pull on to create the health and life you desire. TRAINING & CREDS: • Master's in Public Health (GW) • Integrative Health & Wellness Coach Training (Duke) • Emotional & Binge Eating Specialist (Eating Freely) PERSONAL JOURNEY & MY WHY FOR THIS WORK: In my late 20's I became obsessed with working out and restricting food. It didn't take long before food had complete control over me and I was terrified to ever eat. Once I started, it was really difficult to stop. I could tell you how many calories there were in just about any food item. I knew exactly how many calories I had consumed every day, and how many I had worked off between spin class, a run, and hot yoga. I routinely canceled plans with friends if food was involved. The internet wasn't new (2009/2010 ish), but resources weren't what they are now. I didn't even realize I had an eating disorder, so I frankly didn't even know what to search for other than a nutritionist! It was a terrifying, dark place to be. Fast forward to today and I don't count or measure anything. My weight has been stable for years (with the exception of pregnancy). I eat mindfully and don't restrict anything. I choose to nourish my body, not punish it. You can, too. The other focus of my practice is specifically for women, where I coach through the journey back into your womanhood. Sometimes this looks like achieving a truly healthy work + life integration, sometimes it looks like leaving the workforce and leaning into your role as mother and wife. For younger women, it's a design project for your future, so you don't have to look back and wish you had prioritized your children more. You can design better, today, no matter where you are on your womanhood journey."

FAQs

Still need more clarity? Here are answers to some commonly asked questions.

How long does it take to see progress?

Button

It really varies. Most people see a big difference in the frequency and intensity of emotional or binge eating episodes within a few weeks. This doesn't mean POOF! they're where they want to be -- but they're moving in the right direction. This work is overcoming an issue that is usually years in the making, so be patient with yourself and aim for consistency.

What if coaching doesn't work for me?

Button

There is no magic bullet for anything. Coaching can be really effective for folks who are ready to do the work. Often, a client reveals some trauma that is keeping them stuck and I might highly recommend therapy. This is usually the reason progress stalls! In this case, you would see a therapist to work through past issues that are holding you back, then resume coaching when you're ready.

What is intuitive eating?

Button

Intuitive eating is simply how we naturally should be eating. Our bodies are so smart! Think about a baby or small child -- they know when to eat and when to stop. As we grow, we focus so much on developing our intellect and tend to neglect our intuition. Doing this work, you will (over time) get back in touch with natural hunger and fullness signals and learn how to actually honor them.
