"Hello and welcome! After many years of feeling unwell and struggling to cope, I frequently found myself unable to get out of bed to go to work because of exhaustion. Every doctor suggested it was depression or that I needed to lose weight. They told me it was normal for moms of three kids (mine are all boys) to feel tired all the time. Embarrassed, I would agree and leave, feeling ashamed that I couldn’t feel better, knowing that my drinking was only making things worse. I started getting help for alcoholism, then for depression. I divorced my husband of fifteen years. Finally, after over ten years of my own research, I discovered I had a genetic trait responsible for many of my symptoms. This condition requires me to actively pace myself and do less each day so my body doesn’t crash. I had to accept mobility aids in my life—a hard reality to face. However, once I knew the true issue, I finally felt validated. Desperate for a chance to feel better and earn an income, I recalled how, during sobriety, I had learned that to live a new life, I had to try something new. I tried coaching and in becoming a coaching client, I instantly found the space I had been seeking. The coach challenged me to explore my thinking, and through this process, I discovered that health and wellness coaching was the perfect way to channel my unique and varied life experiences. I completed my training in health and wellness coaching from the University of Portland and became a board-certified health and wellness coach in 2023. I am currently in an MA program at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, to expand my expertise in health and well-being coaching. I struggled with intense summers in the Northern California valley, and now enjoy the more consistent weather in South Bay, Los Angeles. My three boys are now grown—a bioengineer, a zookeeper, and a musician still in college. My mom now lives with my husband and me, and we enjoy beach and museum trips, as well as exploring dog-friendly and accessible beaches with our dogs, Shelby and Pepper. My most cherished times are visits from our kids and stepkids (seven in total!) and friends. It is my honor to walk this path with you. Give me a call to further discuss how I can best assist you."

FAQs

Still need more clarity? Here are answers to some commonly asked questions.

1. What is virtual health and wellness coaching?

Button

Virtual health and wellness coaching is a collaborative, online service designed to help you set and achieve your wellness goals. Sessions are held via video or phone, providing personalized support, accountability, and guidance no matter where you’re located.

2. How does virtual coaching work?

Button

After an initial assessment, we’ll schedule regular sessions (usually weekly or bi-weekly) to explore your goals, assess progress, and address any challenges. Each session is interactive and tailored to your needs, with clear action steps and follow-up.

3. What types of goals can coaching help with?

Button

Coaching can support a wide range of wellness goals, including improving physical fitness, developing healthier eating habits, managing stress, enhancing sleep quality, navigating life transitions, and improving overall mental well-being.

4. How is coaching different from therapy?

Button

While coaching focuses on setting and achieving future goals, therapy is generally more focused on mental health, healing, and past experiences. Coaches are trained to guide clients in practical strategies and goal attainment but do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.

5. Do I need any specific equipment or apps?

Button

Generally, you’ll need a reliable internet connection, a quiet space, and a device with video or phone capabilities. Some clients find using apps (such as for tracking goals or journaling) helpful, but no specific apps are required unless desired.

6. How long do clients usually work with a coach?

Button

The duration varies depending on the client’s goals. Many people start with a 3- to 6-month period to build momentum and see significant changes, though some may choose shorter-term coaching for targeted goals or extend it as they set new aspirations.

7. Is there a set curriculum or structure?

Button

The coaching experience is customized. While each session is structured to keep progress steady, the content and focus areas evolve based on your specific needs and goals. Sessions are adapted to match your unique wellness journey.

8. What can I expect during each session?

Button

Each session begins with a check-in to review your progress since the last session, followed by a deep dive into the session’s focus area. We’ll discuss strategies, troubleshoot challenges, and set clear action steps to work on until our next meeting.

9. What is the cost, and are there packages available?

Button

Pricing varies based on the duration and frequency of sessions, with packages available for long-term commitments. Feel free to inquire about current rates and any package options to fit your needs.

10. How do I get started?
